031114 Can there be 200 & 600 species of fauna & flora in the desert?

Don't know because I didn't see that many nor count that many.  However, that's what the sign at the Saguaro National Park said.  SNP is where we were today.  I will say, in it's own way, it's beautiful out there.  It's dry & relatively isolated, but beautiful.  I've never seen a saguaro cacti in person, but they were growing like pines in Virginia, as well as multiple other varieties.  There were many other types of plants.  About the only animals we saw were a couple of lizards and a bird.

The run out into the park was dirt and mostly one way.  At one point, we exited the truck and hiked along a path about 1/2 mile in length one way.  It's a good park to visit if in the Tucson area.  The following pictures were taken in the park, either from the road or during our walk along a trail.  The last one that looks like a zebra is the visitor's center.

This afternoon, an old friend from our B RV days came by.  It was good to visit with her.

Today was a pretty non hectic day.  They are good to have once in a while.

The weather has been good lately .  I forgot how cool it can get in the desert.  I put my light sleeping bag away and was just using a set of sheets last night.  WRONG.  It got cold in the trailer last night.  Couldn't sleep.  I found a decorative light blanket.  That helped.  Finally got out the electric heater.

We're leaving for Quartzite in the morning.  I guess we'll spend the night and then head for Las Vegas.

Revised 4/14/14.  New narrative and new pictures.
